Am I on a bad slope?

I am unemployed recently, after 10 years as head of department in an SME. My family is a guarantee of stability. I took the music, I think of professional projects where I would be an engineer on my own ... But I'm anxious, because in the background, I do not want to rework. Am I on a bad slope (long-term unemployed)? Should I consult? Mamere, 38

I think before you start looking for your next activity, it's time to take a month or two to make a good assessment of in-depth skills (with the APEC for example, or a specialized firm), to determine the professional project that will allow you to synthesize between the multiple dimensions of your personality, very rich. In fact, you have a lot of interests, skills, desires, and surely there is an area where you can reconcile all of that, at least in part.

Avoid choosing an extreme solution that you may regret later, but try to exploit the positive aspect of your experience (your engineering skills) to point you to an activity where your skills will be enhanced by an environment that suits you, while respecting your family life.

Not easy to reconcile all this, will you say to me? This is the reason why a real deep reflection, accompanied by a professional, is necessary, rather than this difficulty to take the act that looks like a leak ...
